Goudy Open, another typeface designed by FW Goudy, was first created and cut in 1918. Combining the suggestion of ancient Roman inscription with something more contemporary, Goudy's object with this design was to give his letter forms "something of a modern look."

The Grunge Papers' holdings of Goudy Open were cast by M & H Type of San Francisco.

Note that The Grunge Papers currently only has capitals, numerals and points in this face. No lowercase characters are available.
